Affordable consultation for Divorce and child custody matters in Houston.
Need legal advice on what to do with your marriage issues?
Do you want more time with your child? Or are you in need a protective order for your safety and the safety of your child?
Then, you need to reach an attorney right away.
Even if you are unable to afford the full price of a legal services, it is good to know what to do in a legal situation, especially your situation.
First, most cases are fact-specific. That means, each case may have similar rules, but the facts (what is going on) are different. Therefore, “Google” is not your attorney and will not provide legal advice for your specific needs. Even further, your neighbor who went through a divorce can share her experience; but your family situation is still different. Therefore, the outcome (as far as custody or division of properties) and experience will be different.
The facts of your case makes your case different and unique.
Secondly, a good rule of thumb is: when the other side has an attorney, hire your own attorney. You need someone that will be on your side and look out for your interests.
Talk to one of our attorneys about your facts and what to do. Get the legal advice – not from books, friends, or families – but from professionals who went to law school and obtained a license for this reason: to assist you. To help you navigate the world of law, courtroom, and family disputes.

Mediation in North Houston and Online Mediation are Available
When you and your spouse have an agreement on how to leave peacefully, the agreement in writing.
Some couples create what we call ‘an agreement incident to divorce’. If the court finds this agreement unjust, the judge may order you to create another agreement.
This rule applies to child custody issues too.
You do not want a mere contract; you need a court order. Once the court approves your agreement or incorporates it into a signed decree/order, then it is enforceable. Its enforceability, however, depends on how specific the language of your agreement is.
If the thought of going to court scares you, you can resolve your legal issues outside of court. At the very least, ask an attorney to review the agreement before you sign it.
In moments of desperation, people say yes and sign their names to unconscionable contracts. For example, a husband may agree to indefinite alimony (spousal maintenance); other times, a wife, not knowing what she is entitled to, agrees to no child support.
There are alternatives to court battles. Not everyone wants their personal information out on public record. Also, not everyone wants a judge to determine what happens to their cases. These are some of the benefits of opting for mediation: confidentiality, autonomy over the outcome, civility, cheaper legal fees, and fast. Our mediation fee is a flat fee, and you can choose a half-hour mediation (four hours – $400) or full day mediation (eight hours – $750). Snacks and drinks are included for in-person mediation.
If this method sounds like your preferred method, then you can opt for mediation and resolve your family matters amicably.
